!!!Agnes, Markgräfin von Österreich

Agnes, Margravine of Austria, b. 1075, d. 1143, daughter of
Emperor Heinrich IV, 1106 second marriage with Margrave
Leopold III of Austria, to whom she is said to have borne 18
children, of whom 6 sons ( esp. Leopold IV, Heinrich II
Jasomirgott, Bishop Otto of Freising) and 5 daughters survived.
According to other researchers some of these children were born to her
first husband, Friedrich von Staufen, Duke of Swabia. However, when
the Babenberg graves in Klosterneuburg were opened the bones of six or
seven children aged no more than three were found. Legend has it that
the monastery was built on the spot where Agnes´s veil had been
found by Leopold´s hounds on an elder bush.
