Albrecht, Erzherzog von Österreich#
b. Vienna, Aug. 3, 1817, d. Arco (Italy), Feb. 18, 1895, military commander; eldest son of Archduke Karl, from 1845 Field Marshal in Upper and Lower Austria and Salzburg, served in the military during the 1848 revolution in Austria, 1851-1860 Governor-General of Hungary, achieved a victory over the Italians at Custozza in 1866, later appointed Inspector-General of the Army and regarded as "eminence grise". Equestrian statue by C. von Zumbusch erected in Vienna ("Albrechtsrampe") in 1899.
