Almsee, Lake, Upper Austria, alt. 589 m, area
0.9 km2, 2.3 km long, 700 m wide, up to
9 m deep, in the northern foothills of the Totes Gebirge
mountains; drains into the River Traun by way of the River Alm;
contains large number of fish. Lake Almsee and the Grosser and Kleiner
Oedsee to the east form a nature preserve.
