Annaberg, Lower Austria, municipality in the district of Lilienfeld, 
alt. 976 m, pop. 891, area 63.48 km%%sup 2/%, biseasonal 
tourist resort (71,466 overnight stays), timber processing. 
Historically significant for its location on the pilgrimage route to 
Mariazell; iron, silver and lead mining in the 18th century (until 
1813). - Parish church (15th-17th centuries), with wood carving group 
of St. Anne, the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus (1440) by J. 
Kaschauer (?) and Baroque high altar (1686); Joachimsberg chapel 
(1690); Lassingfall waterfall (90 m), power plant, Alpine nature park.
