!!!Askin, Leon eigentlich L. Aschkenasy

b. Vienna Sept. 18, 1907, d. Vienna, June 3, 2005, actor and 
director. Studied at the Vienna Academy of Music and the Dramatic 
Arts. International career (Vienna, Duesseldorf, Paris) as a cabaret 
and revue performer noted for political satire. Lived in Paris from 
1938 to 1940, when he went to the United States; stage successes 
(directed Goethe's Faust on Broadway, 1949); embarked on a career as 
movie actor in Hollywood in 1952.  Films include Billy Wilder's "One, 
Two, Three" (1960) and "Hammersmith Is Out" under the direction of 
Peter Ustinov (1972). Returned to Vienna in 1994.
