Attems, noble family from Gorizia. One line of the family settled in
Styria during the 17th century. A. Palace in Graz was built from
1702-1716; towards the end of World War II most of the splendid
interior was lost (including the private picture gallery, the largest
in Styria). In 1962 the palace was bought and restored by the province
of Styria. Important personalities belonging to the A. family: Count
Edmund Attems, Count Ferdinand Attems, Count Heinrich Attems, Count
Ignaz Maria Attems.
