Atzenbrugg, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Tulln, alt. 
186 m, pop. 2,322, area 25.94 km%%sup 2/%, between 
Herzogenburg and Tulln on the River Perschling. District office of the 
Red Cross, metal processing, group medical practise.- First documented 
in 2nd half of the 12th century; palace built from farmhouse in 14th 
century, 2-winged complex (16th/17th centuries), expanded as Schubert 
Museum and cultural centre from 1978 (Schubertiaden); since its 
renovation in 1998 the palace has also been the location of a centre 
for folk culture of the province of Lower Austria; in the Schlosspark 
artificial hill (Waasen) with small Baroque pavilion 
("Schubert-Haeuschen"). The Aumuehle mill is also in the vicinity 
(turned into small palace in 17th-19th centuries); in the cadastral 
district of Heiligeneich is a Baroque parish church.
