d. near Gallizien (Carinthia), Sept. 7, 1981, painter and graphic 
artist. His work is indebted to E. Nolde and E. Munch, with its themes 
largely drawn from the landscape and population of Lower Carinthia; 
clear-cut outlines mark his rich designs.
