!!!Berufskrankheiten

Occupational Diseases, mostly chronic diseases caused by working
processes or working materials. Such diseases can be triggered off by
chemical substances (arsenic, benzene, lead, phosphorus, mercury etc.)
or physical influences (permanent pressure, vibrations, noise,
radiation), infectious bacteria (for medical staff or social workers),
dust, Thomas slag or asbestos, which can damage the respiratory organs
and the lungs. Certain skin diseases also fall under this category. A
list of recognised industrial diseases is annexed to the ASVG (Law
relating to Social Insurance). These diseases are covered by accident
insurance.
