d. Vienna, Oct. 31, 1916, landscape painter. Studies at the Vienna 
Academy under A. Schaeffer von Wienwald and in Munich, under the 
influence of A. Pettenkofen undertook several study trips to Hungary, 
Italy and the Netherlands. At times closely associated with E.J.  
Schindler. Important representative of Austrian "mood impressionism".
