Bletschacher, Richard, b. Fuessen (Germany), Oct. 23, 1936, 
dramaturge, author, translator. Studied law, philosophy, theatre 
studies and musicology in Munich, Heidelberg, Paris and Vienna, then 
worked as assistant stage director and stage director; 1982-1996 chief 
dramaturge of the Vienna State Opera. Translator of opera libretti and 
poetry (for example Shakespeare´s sonnets), author of novels, 
dramas and poetry, including works for children and young people.
