Bregenzer Grafen#
Bregenzer Grafen (Counts of Bregenz), noble family from Swabia; approx. 920-1150 ruled from Bregenz over parts of Vorarlberg. Most male members of the family were called Ulrich ( Udalrichinger). Ulrich X founded the monastery of Andelsbuch-Mehrerau around 1090. His successor was Count palatine Hugo von Tuebingen (d. 1182), whose son Hugo called himself after their ancestral seat ( Montfort).
