Brinkmann, Ruth#

b. Berlin (Germany), July 22, 1934, d. Vienna, Jan. 18, 1997, actress. Studied drama at Yale University; after her first parts in the USA she met the Austrian director F. Schafranek, married him and moved to Vienna. In 1963 they founded Vienna´s English Theatre, where she played many leading parts; after her husband´s death she also managed the theatre. She was awarded numerous honours and distinctions.
