Daim, Falko, b. Vienna, Feb. 28, 1953, archaeologist and historian. Studied in Vienna; since 2000 professor at the Department of Prehistory and Early History of the University of Vienna. Has carried out important research on Austria in the early Middle Ages as well as excavations and studies on Avar settlements in the eastern part of Austria.
