Dinghofer, Franz, b. Ottensheim (Upper Austria), April 6, 1873, d. Vienna, Jan. 12, 1956. Law scholar, German Nationalist politician. 1907-1918 mayor of Linz; 1911-1918 member of the Reichsrat; 1918 president of the Provisional National Assembly. In 1919 D. founded the Grossdeutsche Vereinigung (Pan-German Association) in Parliament and in 1920 became the chairman of the Grossdeutsche Volkspartei (Pan-German People's Party). 1920-1928 member of the Nationalrat; 1926-1927 Vice Chancellor; 1927-1928 Minister of Justice; 1928-1938 president of the Supreme Court.
