Dipauli, Andreas Freiherr von#
b. Aldein near Bozen/Bolzano (South Tyrol), Nov. 14, 1761, d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Feb. 25, 1839, legal scholar. After studying law in Brixen/Bressanone, Innsbruck and Pavia, D. began a career as a legal expert in the civil service; made a large contribution to the construction of the Ferdinandeum museum of Tyrolean history, to which he donated his collection of manuscripts (called "Dipauliana"), which are extremely valuable for the history of the Tyrol.
