b. Korneuburg (Lower Austria), Nov. 27, 1895, 
d. Salzburg, Oct. 25, 1981. Successful operetta composer who at first 
wrote sacred music. Theatre orchestra director in Innsbruck, Salzburg 
and Berlin, where his "Clivia" (1933) was his first successful 
operetta. In Vienna and Salzburg from 1946, nephew of military band 
leader Hermann D. (1874-1930), who mainly composed short operettas.

1939; Flucht ins Glueck, 1941; Manina, 1942; Zirkusblut, 1951; Doktor 
Eisenbart, 1952; Der dritte Wunsch, 1954. - Film soundtracks 
(Fiakerlied, 1936; Heimatland, 1939 and others).
