Drei Grafschaften#
Tres Comitatus (Drei Grafschaften): Otto von Freising wrote in the "Gesta Friderici imperatoris" that Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa had proclaimed the March of Austria, together with its three counties, a duchy in 1156. There has been considerable controversy among historians as to the interpretation of the "three counties"; according to a more recent theory the three counties were the Marches of Ostarrichi, Hungary and Bohemia.
