Ehrenstein, Albert#

b. Vienna, Dec. 23, 1886, d. New York (USA), April 8, 1950, poet and narrative writer, important representative of Expressionism, supported by K. Kraus, who later became the focus of E.'s attacks. Wrote poems that experimented with language and contained sharp social criticism. 1932 fled to Switzerland, then in 1941 to the USA.
