!!!Einbürgerung

Naturalisation, the act of investing a foreigner with the status of
Austrian citizen Citizenship. The conditions under which the
privilege of naturalisation is granted are laid down in the
Citizenship Act of 1985. Under certain circumstances there is a legal
claim to naturalisation (e.g. marriage to an Austrian citizen). In
normal cases, the usual requirement for naturalisation is a period of
residence in Austria of at least 10 continuous years. This period can
be shortened, specially if the naturalisation of a certain person is
in the public interest. Naturalisation is within the competence of the
provincial governments.
