Eternit-Werke Ludwig Hatschek AG, producer of fibre-cement products; 
founded in 1893, its parent plant is in Voecklabruck (Upper Austria). 
The process of producing cast-stone slabs made of fibrous materials 
and hydraulic binding agents was patented in 1900 ( Hatschek, Ludwig) 
under the name "Eternit", it was commercialised worldwide. Today the 
production uses asbestos-free materials. Turnover in 1994: ATS 
986 million, 560 employees.
