Exner, Franz, b. Vienna, March 24, 1849, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 15, 1926, physicist, son of Franz Serafin  Exner. 
Professor at the University of Vienna, experimental researcher in the 
fields of spectral analysis and electrochemistry; 1910 head of the 
Institute of Radium Research. Known as the founder of modern research 
on atmospheric electricity.
