b. Vienna, April 17, 1825, 
d. Vienna, Oct. 19, 1882. Folk singer, theatre manager and playwright. 
In 1862 opened a theatre for musical plays in the Vienna Prater. Under 
the guidance of F. and J.  Matras, the theatre, which was known as 
F.-Theatre, became the most important stage for the singers of classic 
popular Viennese songs from 1865. Manager of the Theater in der 
Josefstadt in Vienna in 1865/66 and from 1871-1877. Wrote Viennese 
songs, couplets ("Na, nur ka Wasser net, na, na, des mag i net"), 
popular plays and farces.
