b. Vienna, Dec. 22, 1895, d. Brewster (USA), Jan. 21, 1990, photographer. Trained as a photographer in the atelier of H. Schieberth, an Austrian photographer, and opened her own atelier in Vienna in 1920. Being Jewish, had to emigrate in 1939. Lived in New York and later in Switzerland (Lugano). Became internationally known as a portrait, society and fashion photographer.
