Bis 1776 in der Musikkapelle des Fürsten [Esterházy|AEIOU/Esterházy,_Nikolaus_I._Joseph_Fürst]. [Joseph Haydn|Biographien/Haydn,_Joseph] schrieb zahlreiche Rollen für ihn. Frieberth verfasste das Libretto zur Oper "L´incontro improviso" (1775) von J. Haydn. Ab 1771 Mitglied der Wiener Tonkünstlersozietät, 1776 Kapellmeister in Wien.
