!!!Friedrich von Villach Friedrich von Villach; documentary evidence shows he lived in Villach (Carinthia) between 1415 and 1452, painter, father of the painter Johannes von Villach. Probably apprenticed in Brixen/Bressanone (South Tyrol), and became one of the leading fresco painters of the late "Soft Style" in Carinthia. Painted endearingly traditional frescoes and also a Passion cycle for the collegiate church at Millstatt (Carinthia, 1428). Works at Mariapfarr in Lungau (Salzburg, around 1430) and St. Leonhard near Tamsweg (Salzburg) are also attributed to him. !Literature W.
