Fuchs, Johann Nepomuk, b. June 29, 1766, 
d. Eisenstadt (Burgenland), Oct. 29, 1839, composer, student of J.  
Haydn. Known as one of the most important composers of sacred music of 
his time. From 1784 worked for the Esterházy orchestra and took 
over the direction of the orchestra after Haydn's death 1822.

28 Masses, 51 offertories and graduals, 31 litanies, 62 further 
works of sacred music, 20 operas, 2 overtures, 15 men's quartets.
