Gaishorn am See, Styria, market town in the district of Liezen, alt. 
723 m, pop. 1,015, area 40.51 km%%sup 2/%, situated in 
Paltental valley in the western part of the Eisenerz Alps, on the old 
salt road leading from Selzthal to St. Michael via the Schober Pass. - 
Emmental cheese dairy. - Parish church (first documented mention 1180, 
reconstruction 1480-1520) with Baroque interior; St. Virgil church 
(consecration 1465, reconstruction 1524) on a hill, Protestant church 
(1872-1880).
