b. Donawitz (Styria), June 30, 1932, chemist. 1975-2000 professor of inorganic and physical chemistry at the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Leoben. Awarded the Erwin Schroedinger Prize of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 1995.
