Studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, where he was connected with the Nagybánya colony of artists. From 1906 friendship with the family of A. Schoenberg (several portraits of members of the circle around Schoenberg). His actual creative period lasted only about 4 years marked by significant works (esp. self-portraits) in Austrian expressionist style. !Literature K. A. Schroeder, R.
