Warranty: If an object that is part of a transaction fails to have the properties commonly expected of it or expressly agreed upon, the supplier shall be liable (Secs. 92 et seq. General Civil Code); depending on the nature of the defect, the contract shall be terminated, the purchase price lowered and/or the defect eliminated. In principle, claims shall be lodged with the competent court (in the case of personal property within 6 months, in the case of real property within 3 years). Special provisions govern warranty in the case of livestock (on account of incubation periods).
