Glax, Julius, b. Vienna, March 11, 1846, 
d. Opatija, Croatia (then Abbazia), Aug. 9, 1922, balneologist. 
Professor at the University of Graz; turned Abbazia into an 
internationally renowned Austrian spa of international fame and 
introduced the salubrious effects of the maritime climate and the sea 
into balneology.
