Gruenmandl, Otto, b. Hall in Tirol, May 4, 1924,
d. Hall in Tirol, March 3, 2000, comedian, author. textile salesman
(1948-1965), also wrote poetry, narratives, radio plays in
neo-expressionist style (for which he was awarded the Austrian State
Prize); known for his "Interviews from the Alpine Region"
("Alpenlaendische Interviews") broadcast on radio from 1973; from 1976
revue artiste, awarded the Deutsche Kleinkunstpreis (for cabaret and
revue) in 1978.
Cabaret programmes: Ich heisse nicht Oblomow, 1979; Ich bin ein wilder
Papagei, 1982; Politisch bin ich vielleicht ein Trottel, aber privat
kenn´ ich mich aus, 1987.
