Grossmann, Stefan, b. Vienna, May 18, 1875, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 13, 1935, author of novellas and novels, 
dramatist, journalist and essayist, lived in Paris, Berlin and 
Brussels; editor of the paper "Wiener Rundschau" (from 1897) and the 
"Arbeiterzeitung" (from 1904). In 1906 founded the paper "Freie Wiener 
Volksbuehne" and in 1920 together with Rowohlt in Berlin the weekly 
"Das Tage-Buch", of which he was co-editor until 1927. His 
autobiography "Ich war begeistert" (1930) describes the situation of 
Jewish intellectuals.
