b. Prague (Czech Republic), Oct. 8, 1818, d. Salzburg, Dec. 22, 1885, founder of the publishing firm of the same name (Ed. Hoelzel Verlag Ges. m. b. H.) in 1844 in Olomouc, head office in Vienna since 1861. Main products: cartographical and geographical publications for schools and travel books.
