Huettenbrenner, Anselm, b. Graz (Styria), Oct. 13, 1794,
d. Ober-Andritz near Graz (Styria), June 5, 1868, most important
composer in Styria in the first half of the 19th century, pianist,
friend of L. van Beethoven and F. Schubert. 1825-1839 head of
the Musical Society of Styria in Graz.
Works: 8 operas, spiritual works, ca. 220 songs, 165 choral works.
