!!!Hermagoras, Heiliger

Hermagoras, St, feast day July 12, lector at the church of Singidunum 
(Belgrade), tortured together with Fortunatus under Emperor Diocletian 
(284-305). His relics were brought to Aquileia. According to legend, 
however, he was a disciple of the Apostles, founding saint and first 
bishop of Aquileia, tortured to death around 70 A.D. The town of 
Hermagor (Carinthia) was named after him.
