b. Zell (municipality of Kufstein, Tirol), Nov. 30, 1860, d. Rome (Italy), Aug. 4, 1928, Capuchin, bible scholar. 1885-1904 taught Bible studies at the educational institution of his order in Innsbruck, from 1904 taught biblical exegesis at Pontificum Seminarium Romanum. Fought against liberal tendencies in questions concerning the Bible.
