Holzgau, Tirol, municipality in the district of Reutte, alt. 1,114 m, pop. 458 (1981: pop. 398), area 36.05 km2, bi-seasonal tourism (106,249 overnight stays), located in the upper Lechtal valley at the entrance of the Hoehenbachtal valley. - First documented mention 1260; neo-Romanesque parish church (consecrated 1864); late-Gothic cemetery chapel (1487); houses (18th  century) with gable paintings; Simms waterfalls north of Holzgau.
