JUCS#

The Journal of Universal Computer Science


Diese - seit 1994 mindestens einmal monatlich erscheinende - Fachzeitschrift ist in elektronischer Form gratis verfügbar.


Im Bereich Informatik ist sie die wohl größte und bekannteste elektronische begutachtete Zeitschrift, die zunächst kostenlos elektronisch erscheint, und dann jährlich auch als Archiv-Sammelband gedruckt wird (wobei die Seitenangaben genau mit der elektronischen Version übereinstimmen).


J.UCS erscheint im Verlag der Technischen Universität Graz und der Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Malysien, in Kooperation mit dem Know-Center Graz



J.UCS - The Journal of Universal Computer Science#

J.UCS is a unique publication for high quality papers in all areas of computer science. Indeed, some of the fans of J.UCS insist that J.UCS really stands for Just a Unique Cost-effective Solution for the dissemination of serious research material.

Papers submitted to J.UCS are reviewed by three referees from the 320 member editorial board. If you are a top researcher in computer science you might want to consider joining the board: just contact the Managing Editor-in-Chief (see below) for further details.

All accepted papers appear with minimal delay in electronic form on the main J.UCS server at http://www.jucs.org in a form that is immediately quotable since uniform citation of papers is guaranteed by identical page numbering of the electronic version and the annual printed archive edition of J.UCS which is published at the end of the year. J.UCS also publishes special issues, e.g. best papers from conferences, anniversary issues etc. Some of the special issues may also be purchased in printed form.

J.UCS combines many outstanding features.

First, due to the generous support by Graz University of Technology, Austria (www.tugraz.at), KNOW-Center, Austria (www.know-center.org) and Campus 02, Austria (http://www.campus02.at/), J.UCS has been able to join the Open Access Initiative for scientific literature in 2007. This means that every new issue including all back-issues (by now some 1.600 contributions) is now accessible all over the world to everyone free of charge.

Second, the prestigious editorial board guarantees high quality of the published articles.

Third, J.UCS has the facility to add notes to papers: such notes can be comments or even links to other material, including Web pages on other servers including of course multimedia material.

Fourth, publications in J.UCS can be searched by category, by author and other parameters, making the extraction of papers fitting the profile of a certain user very simple.

Fifth, JUCS is based on a solid server concept (Hyperwave, see http://www.hyperwave.com) providing many inherent functionalities.

Sixth, JUCS offers "Links into the Future"

Seventh, JUCS offers geographical mash-ups showing wherere authors and editors come from.
