Kadett#
Cadet, young person training in a military school to become an officer in the armed forces. From 1874 military training was given to young cadets in Austria-Hungary in the Theresianische Militaerakademie, the Technische Militaerakademie (technical military academy), the 2 Landwehrakademien (militia academies) in Vienna and Budapest, the Marine-Akademie (naval academy) in Fiume and the Militaeroberrealschulen (military schools for boys between the ages of 14 and 18) and the Kadettenschulen (cadet schools for infantry, cavalry und artillery). After the First World War all these schools and academies were closed. The Militaermittelschule (military secondary school for boys between 14 and 18) in Graz-Liebenau was only in existence from 1936 to 1938.
