Lamberg, Franz Graf#

b. Moor near Bratislava, Slovakia (then Pressburg), Nov. 30, 1791, d. Pest (Hungary), Sept. 28, 1848 (murdered), general. From 1834 mainly commanded troops in Hungary, after the outbreak of the Revolution of 1848 commander-in-chief of all imperial troops in Hungary. Met with hostility from the circles around L. Kossuth, murdered at the Schiffsbruecke in Pest (like Count T. Baillet von Latour on Oct. 6, 1848 in Vienna).
