Pürgg-Trautenfels#
Puergg, Styria, village in the district of Liezen, alt. 790 m, settlement with a castle and a church located near where the Grimming Valley meets the Ennstal valley, cadastral community belonging to the municipality of Puergg-Trautenfels. - Romanesque St. John´s Chapel with important frescoes (around 1160-1165, including a depiction of the "Katzen-und-Maeuse-Krieg" (Cat and Mouse War)); parish church, a pillared basilica, originally Romanesque but redone in the Gothic style, with a Gothic fresco cycle (around 1300), statues and stained glass.
