Verband Sozialistischer Mittelschüler, VSM#

Verband Sozialistischer Mittelschueler, VSM (Association of Socialist Secondary School Pupils), founded in 1925 under the name of Bund sozialistischer Mittelschueler Oesterreichs, dissolved in 1934, re-established in 1953. Pursued objectives of the Austro-Marxist movement (e.g. introduction of comprehensive schools) and fought against right extremism. The Association had approximately 6700 members in 1971, but left the fold of the Socialist Part (SPOe) in 1973 on account of repeated ideological conflicts and soon lost importance as a political organisation.
