Verkauf, Willy auch André Verlon#

b. Zurich (Switzerland), March 6, 1917, d. Vienna, Feb. 12, 1994, artist, writer, publisher and journalist. Came to Vienna as a child. 1933 emigrated to Palestine, where he founded a publishing house and actively promoted the liberation of Austria, also in his work as a publisher (founded the "Free Austrian Movement"). 1946 returned to Vienna and 1946-1948 published the magazine "Erbe und Zukunft". 1948 was excluded from the KPOe (Austrian Communist Party). Was deeply interested in Dadaism ("Dada - Monographie einer Bewegung", 1957) V. lived in Paris from 1961-1971 and in 1963 founded the group "Imago?" together with A. Berni. From 1971 lived mostly in Austria and made a name for himself in literature and art mainly with his collages.
