784 m, pop. 3,157, area 95.50 km2, bi-seasonal
tourist resort (524,751 overnight stays in 1992) in the Brixen valley.
- Alpine rose hall, recreation home of the City of Innsbruck, sewage
works, spa institute, Alpenrose I and Alpenrose II monocable
traction ropeways. - Parish church (documented mention in 1320,
altered in Baroque style between 1772 and 1775 by A. Hueber,
historicist alterations from1856 to 1858), high altar with late Gothic
St. Nicholas statue (around 1500); St. John pilgrimage
chapel (1641) with early Baroque high altar on Hohe Salve mountain.
