From his body fluids he created Tefnut, the goddess of fire and Shu, the god of air. This god in turn gave birth to Geb, god of the earth, and Nut, the goddess of the sky. Geb and Nut fathered the great-grandsons of Atum, the deities Osiris and Isis and the couple Seth and Nephthys. In the following years it came to blows between the brothers Osiris and Seth, Osiris lost his life and became the god of the underworld.
Aus seinen Körperflüssigkeiten schuf er Tefnut, die Göttin des Feuers und Schu, den Gott der Luft. Diese wiederum gebaren Geb, den Gott der Erde, und Nut, die Göttin des Himmels. Geb und Nut zeugten die Urenkel von Atum, die Gottheiten Osiris und Isis und das Paar Seth und Nephthys. In der Folgezeit kam es zwischen den Brüdern Osiris und Seth zum Streit, der Osiris das Leben kostete und ihn zum Gott der Unterwelt machte.
