Two Yemenites in Sanaa carrying “cut”-limbs early in the morning. Cut is a hallucinogenic plant and has to be chewed together with lime. It produces deformed cheeks after taking it for decades. It rewsembles very much to the use of coca leafs. Even the plant, the cut bushes and their leaves looks very similar. The fresher the Limbs, the more effective are the leafs. In the afternoon most Yemenites take cut in special cut rooms. About 15 to 20% of the fields in Yemen are used to plant cut. Every day the cut leafs are loosing approximately half of the hallucinogenic effect.
