The fountain Schöner Brunnen [{GoogleMap location='49.454231,11.077056' zoom='17' title='Schöner Brunnen' width='450' height='350'}], a main attraction of Nuremberg, was built between 1385 and 1396 and is a 19 metre high fountain, in the shape of a Gothic spire, located on Nuremberg's Hauptmarkt. Forty colourful figures representing the world view of the Holy Roman Empire adorn the fountain. A fence surrounds the monument on which two brass rings are embedded on opposite sides. Spinning these rings is said to bring good luck.
