Northwest of the village of Massari, on the Kammyrioti hill is the Monastery of Archangel Michael, or Kammyri Monastery . 36.1851591,28.0303375

It was built in the 12th AD century to commemorate the miracle on Chonais of Asia Minor. The monastery complex includes the church of the Archangel, the impressive belfry, the temple, hostels, cells, a large dining room and an oven.

The nowadays dissolved monastery has been visited King Paul A. and his wife Frederica.

The church is cruciform with a dome, bearing gilded iconostasis. It is decorated with frescoes.

It boasts the image of the Archangel in place of which there was previously another picture, because the savagery frightened pregnant women and was therefore replaced.

The monastery celebrates on September 6.
